Different error codes and what they mean.
1. e-16
This will happen most likely when your subscription is expired, that means you need to pay your dstv/gotv subscription. but if you have paid and you are still getting the same message, then you can try clearing the error code using the dstv ussd self service code. for nigeria it is *288# and *120# for south africa. it`s different in each country so you might have to search the code for your country on google.
once you dial it, you will see clear error codes among the options, choose it and follow the prompts to clear the e-16 error code. another alternative is to download the dstv app on your phone and login using your smart card number. number 2, e,thirty2. This is called validation in progress which means dstv is trying to check if you have subscription on your account, you can wait it out for like 5 minutes or you can use the self service code or the app to clear it from your screen. just follow the prompts and choose the error code on your screen. number 3, e-48. This happens to users with extraview accounts, extraview are accounts with two decoders working under a single subscription. it consists of both a primary decoder and a secondary decoder, The primary is able to work just fine on its own while the secondary needs the primary to work. Am not going to get into the technicality of it, but what you do need to know is that the primary has to be active for the secondary to work. so if the primary decoder is active and it`s still not working, call a dstv accredited installer.
