If or Whether ?

Do you know the difference between "IF" and "WHETHER"?

Answer number 2- I answered only if in place both (if, whether )
Answer number 5- I answered only whether in place both (if, whether)
Answer number 8 - I answered if in place of whether because as you have said we put whether after prepositions
