Cardiovascular Disease in Lupus

Heart disease is now one of the leading complications of lupus. Dr. Joseph McCune of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor is leading a team of investigators studying why heart disease is more common among people with lupus. In this video, Dr. McCune describes research into the role interferon and endothelial cells, which line blood vessels, as possible causes of increased risk of heart attacks and strokes that are associated with lupus.
