Are 360 Cameras a Gimmick? What's The Best 360 Camera?

I've had a lot of fun using this Insta360 One R 360 mod. Did some scooter rides, and now we vlog with it. It's cool for a shot or two here and there, but is it mostly a gimmick? A lot of people complain about feeling nauseous just watching the videos lol. What's the best 360 camera right now? Insta360 One X2? Theta Z1? Qoocam 8k?

Just did a R vs x2 comparison vid. Big advantage of the X2 is the 1/4 20. Always in line with the stick and won’t get bumped off axis like the GoPro mount.

I just picked up the one x2. Most fun camera ever. Stitching is way better than the one r and you can always under sharpen the clips and bring down the saturation. Great 360 camera.

btw i stitch the 360 footage in insta360 studio, export in h265 or prores, then use reframe360 plugin in davinci resolve to do all the reframing. that way you don't have to edit twice like you said.

I enjoyed the 360 videos. FYI - if you use premiere insta360 has a stitching plugin so you don't need to render video 2x. I'm hoping that they create a plugin for Davinci resolve soon but I doubt that will happen for a while

I bought an x3. Totally revolutionized my bike trail YT channel. It's great. I use the time lapse and tiny planet shots sparingly. Too gimmicky. People are intrigued by it when I'm out shooting. "Is that a metal detector?" "What is that, a fishing pole? I hope you catch some!"

Wow brother I find myself watching all of your videos and even watching a lot of them more than once. You have an AWESOME personality. I think you have found the PERFECT VLOG'ing camera because I love the total view that we get from this camera. It isn't as fun with the street crossings but I do like it overall better than the others. maybe just use a different mode or camera for the slo-mo crossings. LoL. You need your own syndicated TV show because you a pleasure to watch. Keep up the GREAT work Brother! BTW I use the Z6ii and LOVE it with the 14-24mm f2.8s lens. U should check that one out.. No flippy but you don't need it because the focus won't leave you no matter what you try and do to trick it. I know it doesn't have the supper sticky little green box that the sony has but I bet you find that the auto focus is just as good.
