MortiseMatch™ | Woodpeckers Woodworking Tools

Показать описание

Woodpeckers new MortiseMatch™ does the same thing for the Festool Domino joiner that a router table does for a router…turning a hand-held power tool into a precision stationary machine. Your Domino mounts to the MortiseMatch and you bring your work to it, instead of taking the Domino to your work. MortiseMatch simplifies working on small stock, keeps your work better aligned to the cutter, and speeds up the mortising process. Mounting takes just seconds, using two machine screws that thread into holes already in the base of your Domino (both models). We have an introductory price that cannot be beat, but only for a limited time!

I do understand that many budgets would not allow splurging on such an expensive tool, especially since Festool’s Domino by itself is a house payment for many. I bought the MortiseMatch precisely for the reasons given in Woodpeckers’ promo. My first project with it was a picture frame. I could never have joined the miters without being able to secure the work pieces and plunge the mortise at 6mm from the bottom. I actually was able to make double mortise and tenon joints. Those miters aren’t going anywhere even if the frame members warp into boomerangs! If you own a Domino, do whatever you can to get a MortiseMatch. You will be amazed at the speed and accuracy of this set-up.

If you build furniture or other production with small parts joined with dominoes, it's great, too. It's not just for picture frames. It's especially useful in making chairs and small tables with angled small parts. I am using my shop-made version based on Carmonius's modified design (with rod positioner), but if I had known Woodpeckers was going to offer its own version, I would have snapped it up in a heartbeat. Building it to high precision standards (0.1mm) takes a lot more time than one might think. I do think some appropriate hat-tip & honorarium ($$) to Carmonius would make Woodpeckers look a bit less like they wear eye-patches and say a lot.

I found this posted on the Festool Owners Group - these are not my words, but this is my reaction.

"I am happy that Lee Valley is sharing royalty with Ola ( Carmonius Finsnikeri ), that is how it should be. Every time I see Lee Valley's name or buy one of their tools it will make me happy. Every time I see WoodPeckers' name or the tools that I have purchased from them I will second guess my purchase." - Capt'n 360

Great product guys. I wonder if I could also use this with the Lamello Zeta P2, the Freud Doweler or the Mafel doweler machines. I guess I will have to get one and try it.

I like this design and might get one. I am currently using fixtures for both domino machines that were my basic idea and my friend designed and built. We even contacted Woodpecker about this 2.5 or so years ago. They did not seem interested even though it uses their base system. I know they would sell like hotcakes!

The "Deep Dive" should be interesting . . . maybe they will talk about the history of this tool ( or NOT ).

There are different types of phenolic grades, do you happen to know which one you guys use for these bases? we have some limitations at my work on which phenolic types we can bring in. The grade would be like "G-11", "XX", "CE", or one of the other variations.

Looks like it's have a problem connecting vacuum hose to Domino XL. Stud is to close to the port. Need to come up with some kind of extension idea. Can't believe woodpeckers missed that.

This is a bad look for Woodpeckers. It's very obvious that they discovered Carmonius Finsnickeri's jig and said: "let's make and sell our version of that (without giving credit to the original designer)!" They really should do the right thing, and at least acknowledge CF and his design. They almost certainly won't... but they should.

Great accessory which doubles the price of Domino.

I like the idea of this but it will cost me $1669. Why? Because I have an older Domino 500 with the plunging pins not the 20mm flip down tabs. Unless i misunderstand the video the flip downs are required

Would be handy if you do awful lot of picture frames and such to re coop the cost. Too pricey

Anyone have any comments on the actual use of this?

I would like more info on that router table dust collector.

If you have the original Domino DF500 joiner with the indexing *pins* instead of flaps, I assume this still works? (of course, my indexing pins are always stuck, so I would need to deal with that)

Dang is this pricy! I have a ton of WP swag. I mean many many thousands. But it seems like they’re pricing even me out.

Blatant theft without any semblance of intention to credit the inventor…

This looks like a useful tool for a specific purpose, and something that would be nice to have when needed, but you must be combining the Woodpeckers premium price tag with the Festool tax, when you came up with this price. I can usually see the added premium pricing and value of your products, but not on this one. Seems lately I'm being more turned off by WP when I see these insane price tags.
