In this video, I'm using my 4x5 large format camera and shooting Fomapan 100 black and white film.
I photograph a scene in the woods, a caravan that serves as a base for the Riddlesdown Model Flying Club and finish with a couple of shots towards Chiddingstone Castle across a field of rapeseed.
The film was developed in Rodinal (1+50) for 9 mins and scanned on an Epson V850 scanner.

Gear used on this vlog:

MPP 4x5 large format camera (1950s)
Schneider Kreuznach 90mm f8 and 135mm f4.7 lenses
Mark II Artist's Viewfinder app
Minolta Spotmeter F

filmed on:

#largeformat #filmphotography #4x5

I particularly liked the shot of the caravan. Thank you, once again, for producing videos with ambient sound rather than a music soundtrack.

That's some gorgeous shots there. The filter really brought those clouds to the front. Nice to see the doggo is having a blast too.

I certainly enjoyed this video. Thank you for not putting any music over the video, that keeps it very calm and true. The B-Roll sound is sufficient. Keep it up, Craig! Also, the images were all great, as always. I especially liked the second one with the caravan. You managed to capture that scene very well.

Loved the rocks and tree. Liked the caravan. Not so sure of the rape field. I think the interest is in the colour there.

Hi Craig. Just found your site, lovely. I too have a couple of MPP's and have had them on a shelf for 30 years ! I am just about to get my act together and try and sort out some film supplies. Your films have spurred me on I just need to get a plan together. Thanks for the prompt ;-)

Excellent as always—stunning pics. Like the use of tilt for DOF. These videos are both charming and super useful. I am using them with two high school students in a weekly photo class. Seeing a real pro in the field really helps. They now know why tripods are still essential and the importance of slowing down. And yes, Barney is a big hit. !!

Great shots! Especially the one with the caravan.
When you were saying goodbye I thought the oak tree in the background with the road leading up to it looked like a great composition.

All four were great shots, and all totally different compositions from each other which I really like. I think the first shot was my favourite, though if you ask me tomorrow I'll probably say a different one as all four were excellent.

Now I don’t want to make you jealous talking about another YouTuber's kit, and comparing "What’s in my bags" but Steve O'Nion has a special case for his banana.

My ambition in life is to be as happy as your dog, is it Barney? He certainly worked out how to get through the gate much quicker than I would.

An absolutely brilliant video, and unless I’m much mistaken it shows the value of a good recce and storing shots up for the right conditions. I really enjoyed this one very much.
