🇵🇱 5 MORE THINGS POLAND DOES BETTER THAN THE USA 🇺🇸 PART 4 - THE FINAL LIST

I was so inspired by the first three videos on my top five things that Poland does better than the United States, that I realized there are at least five more things I could mention. Between all the comments and thousands of views, I clearly had to include a few more and I realized I forgot a couple I intended to share previously.

This latest list, the final one I think, five more plus two extra, covers a range of things. I did time stamp each topic below in case you want to skip ahead and listen to specific ones.

Granted these are totally subjective and look more at cultural things and personal interests. I am fully aware I'm not an expert on any of this, and it's simply based on conversations and limited experience (or what I like).

Thank you to all the viewers and comments

Tell me what you think. Do you agree? Disagree? What would you add? Do you want me to compare Poland to another country, say Italy? England? Canada? Or compare other countries with each other. Let me know your thoughts.

Great summary.Polish grandmothers also like monitoring their streets through the window, especially in small towns & villages & they don't like to mind their own business." Who needs CCTV, if you have Babcia".😂

Maybe Polish people are perceived as less friendly than Americans because we don't have problem with sharing our opinion, even when it's different than yours, exactly as our babcia would do ;)
We don't expect that everybody will like us. I just hope you don't think we are all rude jerks ;)
I worked as a truck driver, most of the time in New England (BTW I've been to Greenland NH, you mentioned recently, a couple of times) I didn't notice that Americans are so friendly toward truck divers, probably especially those drivers with thick Slavic accent :)
About universities in Poland... Well, I tried to convince my stepdaughter to go study in Poland. But as a first-generation American, she dismissed that idea. Recently, after working for two years without any prospects to save money for education in the US, she finally asked me, 'How much does it cost to study computer science in Poland?' :D
In my case, it's approximately $150 a month, completely online.
Yup, I refused to be a truck driver in America. I'm going to be a cybersecurity analyst in America :D
Maybe I'll find more friendly Americans!
You mentioned the social distance in Poland vs. the US. I have a totally different opinion on this subject. Again, maybe it was related to my job. But I have to add that in 5 years, it happened only once that somebody brought me a hot coffee on a chilly morning. It was a store manager in Tilton, NH.
One of the many reasons why I have good memories related to New Hampshire.

I think that you can add one more important feature, i.e. taking care of the historical memory of people who fought for freedom . Celebration of the 60th anniversary of June '56, Wielkopolska Uprising or anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising and "W" hour Poles know how to pay tribute to the insurgents .

You're a good guy, I enjoy watching your videos. As far as construction goes, we laugh that American houses are built from matches... Looking forward to the next video!

If haven’t watched Kieslowski’s movies, you don’t know much about Polish cinematography I’m afraid. Watch them as soon as you can, all of them but especially three colours, white, blue and red.

In terms of alcohol polish speciality is mead, traditional polish alcohol, sadly almost forgotten during PRL times

Agree about disco polo, grand mams and houses. As of movies - watch those: Lalka, Janosik, Ogniem i Mieczem, Potop, Vabank, Czterej Pancerni i pies, Stawka większa niż życie, Jak rozpętałem drugą wojnę światową, Sami swoi, Seksmisja, Dekalog - long story short those are Polish movie heritage.

I wanted to jump in on the music and movies briefly. Music, I love the live classical music I always heard on the streets whether in Lublin, Warsaw, or Krakow. I'm also a big fan of jazz, but in Poland I had never heard of Disco-Polo till I arrived. So my apologies, but I'm American after all. For movies, I have seen other films besides Vega's - Tylko mnie kochaj, Pogoda Na Jutro, Warsawa, and many others.

Thanks for this video! Actually, most of Poles won't agree with your first two point 🤣Disco-polo is regarded to be primitive and extremely cringy... and so are Vega's and all with Karolak (main actor in "Listy do M" movies) 😉 But that's just your opinion, it depends on what you listen or watch.
Museums - I agree, many of them are really nice... but Brits do it better, and all are free! Wish we had it like they do...
By the way - if you ever go to Gdańsk, don't forget to visit Gdynia! It is the youngest Polish city and has all the best a seashore city can offer, along with amazing museums: Museum of Navy and - really interesting - Museum of Polish Emigration. Also in Gdynia you can visit the beautiful tallship Dar Pomorza, and old navy destroyer, Błyskawica.

And yes. Polish Babcia and hospitality rocks ♥

Have a lovely day! 😊

I was wondering why there is such a huge difference in housing system. I think that you just had to fit your housing and costruction to your environment. Since it was cheap, fast and easy to redo it became popular not only in places which are endangered by tornadoes. Still some of the older american building looks really great and cannot compete at least in size or decoration to the Polish ones.

If it comes to customer service in Poland it is like, you are going to the shop you can stay there as long as you want and nobody will care about you especially in supermarkets but if you are looking for something of course they will help you to find it or just tell you where it is, anyways I know what you mean Polish people are so straight if it comes to work (generally too) you might even feel sometines that they're angry or something but it is like it is. Personally I think that in the smaller shops where everybody knows eachother there is always a lot of smile and conversations.A lot of Polish people show not emotion but they are really helpfull and dont really like to do something fake.

Cost of living! In Poland you can live on $12 000 a year. Most people don't even earn that much and they still have a decent live, good standard, travelling, gym, social life and stuff. If you earn $30 000 a year you are in top 3% here. Hard to imagine in the US.

1. When it comes to music, of course you only compared country music and disco polo, right ?
2. Patryk Vega's films always keep the same level, very low but equal/the same 😂
3. Yes, Polish museums are much better than American ones when it comes to new museums like the Warsaw Uprising Museum, the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk, and the POLIN Museum of Polish Jews in Warsaw. But you didn't mention one important thing - Polish museums (the new ones) have information in English and American museums don't have information in Polish, it's unacceptable and unfair 😅
4.Americans must have paying universities because you live on credit to credit, it's part of your culture 😉
In Europe/Poland we say - European/Poles work to live, Americans live to work 🤗
5.If your mom says Polish vodka is the best, it must be so, moms are always right, isn't it ? 😉
6. Well, babcias are babcias 😊
7. Polish buildings are very durable, unless we are visited by Germans and Russians 😉

Free higher education in the USA is something that would be very useful to people in the USA. After receiving the diploma, the graduate could no longer complain about the inheritance of social inequality. to his complaints the short answer is: you've been given a chance now to pay off your debt to society, not bring in more bills. Should everyone have free access to science? Not only those who are able and hardworking, and the entrance exam will decide.

Have you seen movies „Kiler” or „Seksmisja”? Absolutely classics.

Disco-Polo??? Surprising!
What about highways? And have you mentioned already maternal leave? And good quality 1st and 2nd grade public schools? I guess in PISA ranking only South Korea and Finland comes before Poland...

As a Pole, I disagree with you. European customer service is much better than American. You can peacefully enjoy your meal, and if you need something, you simply call the waiter. American customer service is pushy and focused on pleasing customers just to get a tip.

Regarding music, the song "Zakopane" is not disco polo. Disco polo is awful music. As for movies, Patryk Vega is a meme in Poland. His films are hopeless. Good Polish movies include "Miś", "Rejs", "Kiler", "Chłopaki nie Płaczą", "Nic śmiesznego", "Seksmisja", "Nie lubię poniedziałków", "Dzień Świra". Some of these movies are so old that you can find them on YouTube, and some may have English subtitles :) Greetings from Gdansk.
