Great explanation sir! However, since CNNs, RCNNs have been developed, are these methods still in practice?

PLZ is it possible to use the vector of features of the image generated by SIFT as an input to the neural network CNN whose goal is to give more quality features of the image ????

Why does performing a Gaussian blur with G(2σ) subsample the image whereas performing the same operation with G(kσ) keeps the image size to be the same?
Are we padding the image in the same octave while increasing k's?
