in essence TCG Pocket is a gacha. You're never guaranteed anything but the appeal of high rarity and special art makes people want to spend money for the chance to get those cards

I'm going to say that it might be too early to compare TCG real and TCG Pocket because we're still dealing with a very base part of the game. I'm guessing that as expansions come out for Pocket, it will start being more comparable to the real life.

I thought about going for the cards in real life, but as I've seen how hotly competitive it is to get cards and hearing that many cards in Pocket that I like may never appear in real life--and that the Pocket version of battling is more simplified and easy to learn--I'm going to stick with Pocket. I have faith it will improve.

SIDE NOTE: I'm shocked that you still don't have full art Mewtwo. I somehow got two of them at the beginning, but I haven't seen them since. Got the Gold Charizard though. Biding my coins and hourglasses for the upcoming expansions in December.

i think the real advantages pocket has over actual TCG is its extremely easy to track a digital collection and it makes understanding the TCG battle type of concept much more accessible to people

Just so you know, the golden crown cards can appear randomly in all packs; meaning that Mewtwo EX crown can appear in Pikachu’s packs. I got 12 crowns and most of them were random pulls.

I’ve played mobile games enough to know as a F2P you’ll eventually get the all the cards/characters/items without spending money. You just have to put the time into it. I have two gold zards, and 1 gold mewtwo. Just got the interactive illustration Pikachu yesterday after trying for two weeks. 183/226 cards trying to get all the cards before the new set comes out December 19th.

I am convinced that once you pull a certain rare card, you are more likely to pull duplicates the next time you get a rare. Everyone I’ve seen consistently pulls the same rare cards over and over and that’s been my experience as well.
