My Grandfather was a bandstand sax player. When I was 15-16 and rocking out Kiss tunes, He used to tell me I should give a jazzer named Wes Montgomery a listen. Here I am in my 60’s giving Wes a listen. You were right Gramps. RIP

Thank you Chris for devoting your valuable time in putting these fantastic lessons together, especially from those of us who can't get to see a teacher of this wonderful style of music.

Chris, your analyses of tunes are wonderful - knowing the function of the harmony and solos is so valuable - it helps me remember the lines and understand where I might use them in other tunes and solos. I really appreciate your work - it would have been so easy to just show fingerings, but your explanations are everything! Thanks so much.

Thanks for these great videos, I was wondering if one day you could do some work on Bluesette, such a cool song in my book 🍻

initially it's, to my ear, a 1 to iv to i to iv...typical blues pattern. then a bit of chromatic decension from iv to iii then a v7 altered (i've heard it called a flat 10) with at least the major third the minor 7th and the flat 10.
