I just got my shiftpod 3 and have this AC on order. It'll be my first burn in a shiftpod. It's going to be amazing

This is a great idea! I have another brand tent I plan on using this set up for this week. Like some of the others have said, I would like to see Shiftpod make a connection for this unit like it has done for the portable a/cs. The best thing about this set up is no negative air pressure, (pulling in hot air from the outside). Even the duel hose units suffer from this but not as bad as the single hose units. Forgot to mention no hoses to deal with! Will be checking in on shiftpod from time to time to see if they ever make this an option in the future. Those of you that have used this in a shiftpod, how well did it cool in hot sunny weather?

Very Dope! I’m waiting on my 8k Midea cause that’s all i could get in time. Also gonna try the ac with a Anker 757 solar generator & 300w solar panel 🤞🏼 a lotta if’s but should work for atleast a little while. Where will y’all be at the burn? Would love to swing by

first time burner going solo, thankfully camping with a large established camp, i paid for a 20amp line for my tent. was poking around my network about AC recommendations and a friend sent me this video, all seems to check out! thinking bc shiftpod 3 is 106sq ft that the 8000BTU version would work. question - do you have it directly on your floor or did you put something in between it? thanks in advance.

several ppl recommended this tent and i even camped right next to one at lightning in a bottle and it was awesome. i'm going to trick it out with my battery operated LED colored candles and lasers. couldn't be more excited and will definitely be setting it up in the next couple of weeks!

Is this the version 2 tent? the version 3 has the ability to use this AC and lift it off the ground?

Shiftpod xl og here! I put a huge blanket in the center of my tent, basically sectioning off half. In texas heat it is very comfortable!!!

Great video. I have a Shiftpod 2 from 2019. Got this AC and testing inside my house (completely inside, not half in and out) and had a huge amount of water leaking from the bottom. I might need to tilt it a bit in the front, but i'm worried this is going to create a huge pool on the playa.

How does this drain on the playa? Will it create a big puddle? How do you prevent water leakage? Thanks!

Hey Also going to the Burn this year, and using this AC for our SP2 - Im trying to figure out optimal ways to minimize dust and seal in the cold air to make the unite as efficient as possible so i can conserve battery power (using a Delta 2 and 220W Solar panels. Is it possible to add another zipper to be able to zip the floor on either side of the AC unit? Do you guys recommend a certain zipper or is this something i can source from you guys? I think this would open up more possibilities with where the unit can be placed. - Cheers, 2 weeks until BM 2023 -

Is it a mini Shiftpod in the video? Because for the regular size ShiftPod there is a special opening, why to bother with the floor zip?

Does this setup work for the Shiftpod III mini as well?

Do you do anything to keep playa dust out of the external half of the AC? Also, I'll be covering my shiftpod with aluminet, would you recommend having the AC covered by the aluminet or not?

Got our Shiftpod 3, Midea 12k, and EU2200i. Do you have rough recommendations for the amount of fuel to bring to the burn if the A/C and phone charging are our primary use of the generator? I was planning on 15 Gallons for roughly 7 days but not sure if that is over kill.

I bought the MIDEA U-SHAPE AC because I saw Shiftpod highly recommending it in the newsletter but I didn't know it'd be installed through the zipper opening until after the AC was delivered. I'm going to burning man in 10 days and I strongly prefer to use the AC without unzipping the zipper at all, if possible (trying to keep the heat + dust out). Has anyone figured out a better way to use the MIDEA U-SHAPE AC? Is unzipping the zipper absolutely mandatory? I wonder if there's actually a better AC available for the Shiftpod? Can anyone please share any tips or advice? Thank you! 🙏

Won't this be a problem for burning man as you're going to get playa dust kicked up into your shiftpod with the open zipper?

Does this setup work with the shiftpod mini?

Does anyone have any insight or recommendations about the Midea 8k vs the 12k? Or what the potential pros/cons are? It seems that an 8k should be sufficient but then I also see that most people are going with a 12k.

So does it cool the shift pod 3 or not? I’m a little confused. One person in the comments says he’s sectioning it off to make one part cooler.

I don't know if this type of External/Internal AC works at BM on the playa with all the fine dust and sand, not to mention tripping over cords and the AC... What do you recommend for playa BM environment?

ShiftPod seriously needs to design a bug-proof way to use this AC if it’s going to be the recommended unit. The pre-installed drawstring hose ports and fully zippered floor are what make this tent so amazing. Giving up the tent’s impermeability from insects getting in, shouldn’t be a compromise you expect customers to make the AC system you recommend, and stuffing a towel shouldn’t be the answer for a tent at this price-point.

Can you share any data on what the power consumption for these looked like at the burn when running on extremely hot days?

What max amp usage were you seeing during the burn on hot days?

I’m trying to figure out how many of these our larger generator setup could support. We’re looking at the 12, 000 btu model.
