Climate Change and Innovative Paths to a Sustainable Future

TOKYO, March 10, 2022 — In the inaugural session of Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) and Asia Society Japan’s (ASJ) seminar series Future of Energy and Climate, an expert panel explores the potential of sustainable energy sources and future technologies. The session opened with a keynote speech on advanced scientific research and technologies by Nobel Laureate in Physics and former U.S. Energy Secretary Dr. Steven Chu, and continued with a presentation on Japan’s challenges towards reaching carbon neutrality by Institute of Energy Economics Japan President and Chief Executive Officer Tatsuya Terazawa. The session concluded with a panel discussion with OIST President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Peter Gruss. Asia Society Japan Policy Committee Chair Jesper Koll hosted the program.
