Dark Sakura seems to have been initially created as a parody of the SNH,
just gaining the power through getting sunburned while sleeping in the sun,
but the comics seem to have taken a more serious approach, implying that Sakura may have the same inner darkness as Ryu,
Hope we see this explored more in SF6, her even becoming Akumas apprentice would be great to sea

I am loving dark sakura, I truly wished after Akuma and Sakura's first meeting I always wondered how would she take in the power and go on her own path.. first seen her dark version and I played with her dark version and it was so cool I wanted to always know the back story and hopefully now I have her backstory hopefully I would see this in Street Fighter 6.

This is why I love the UDON comics so much, they add much needed, and much appreciated, story and nuance to each character. I'm super excited to see what'll come next.
As for Akuma's desire to corrupt the others, I've always seen it as more of an ego thing. It not only shows that, in his own eyes, he's a better teacher than his brother; but also, once he inevitably kills them, he's the strongest even at his opponent's best.

I would love to see an evil female fighter who's Akuma's disciple and Sakura's rival who pushes her to the edge by nearly killing Ryu in order to bring out "Dark Sakura" within her in order to be a Worthy Opponent

If I may add on to this, Dark Sakura has much more backstory in the mainline Street Fighter series than we're actually given. Yes, there's the Marvel vs. Capcom games, and those are part of Marvel canon. It isn't actually confirmed if they're part of Capcom canon, however, so that's why I'm excluding them. Also, the UDON comics are a very odd case, so they're excluded too. There's times where they're canon & times where they aren't after all, and it's also never confirmed if the Dark Sakura storyline in the UDON Comics is part of official canon or not.

So now to my main point: Dark Sakura in the mainline Street Fighter canon. There's the _Sakura Ganbaru!_ manga, which has something similar to Dark Sakura that's shown throughout both volumes. There's Alpha 3, which shadow drops Dark Sakura in the Japan-exclusive special win screen interactions as a "feeling" Sakura has whenever she battles a strong opponent. There are three times this is brought up in Alpha 3 - once when she wins against Akuma, a second time when she wins against M. Bison, and the third when she wins against Ryu.

Then there's the big one: base game _Street Fighter IV_ - at the end of Sakura's story, she ends up finding Ryu trying to destroy the BLECE Project, and as soon as she drops in to try and help, she's hit by a blast from the bio-weapon, which was activated with Ryu's Hadoken. After being flung into the wall, she's seen with red lightning surrounding her. What this has to do with Dark Sakura at all? I don't know. However, if Dark Sakura were to ever be implemented into the mainline Street Fighter games (and I pray to god she does, I sent a letter to Capcom of Japan asking them to do it similar to how SNK turned Purple Nakoruru into Rera), I would love to see this be mentioned as part of Dark Sakura's mainline series creation.

Looks like the story plot of "hado" goes to sakura. Cause ryu found the balance to it. I am sure many players don't mind having an alternate version sakura.

I really hope Dark Sakura is a thing in SF6. Ryu has finally got rid of it so now would be the best time.
