5.2 Quasilinear PDE: Checking the general solution and applying Cauchy data

I look at a 1st-order quasilinear PDE & check that the general solution I have obtained is indeed a solution. I then look at applying two sets of Cauchy data to the problem, one of which works & one of which doesn't.....
