Taylor Swift - “New Year’s Day” Fan Performance

This intimate fan performance of Taylor Swift's new song, "New Year's Day" from her album "Reputation" was filmed in October in the living room of her Rhode Island home. One hundred fans, who were picked by Swift herself, were in the audience.

Swift invited fans to join her for special early listening parties called “secret sessions” to get an exclusive first listen of her new music before its public release. During the sessions, Swift personally walked her fans through the inspiration and the process behind making each song.

Just now accidentally discovering this song in early 2020... I was working on finances at the Dining Room table and had the Reputation stadium tour playing on Netflix in the background in the Family Room... This song came on close to the end of her setlist and I remember suddenly pausing and listening to how soft and lovely the piano melody was... I stopped what I was doing and went into the other room, sat on the couch and just watched in awe how she had an entire stadium in ambiance of this beautiful song. It's now a new favorite. I just love how near and dear to the heart it is <3
