Bro... The timing on this video is crazy. I just picked my guitar back up over the weekend after not touching it for like 15 years.... Because I was self teaching like a dumbass back in MySpace days, and learned NOTHING so I gave up. Maybe I'll follow this blueprint, it's so coincidentally timed lol

The pick angle tip is a blessing. After trying it my sweep picking and picking in general feels so much smoother and faster🙏

I swear, Bernth's teaching AND English have jumped 8 levels in the past couple of years.

oh yeah, his playing is even better too. :)

26:07 *"I can´t give you any Practice Tips when it comes to that..."* - Basic *'Law of Nature'* I´d call it in terms of improving ANYTHING on the Guitar as a Guitarist: *Do as many repartitions (focused & concentrated + 'clean' = without making ANY mistakes while doing so)* until your getting so *USED TO IT* that slowly but steadily it´ll become 'second Nature to you', or in other Words until you *don´t have to think about what your hands are doing and/ or if your Fingers/ Hands are in the right position etc.* because you can do it NOW blindfolded and what not xD
*Practicing* till it FEELS & SOUNDS right... *that´s the most important thing I´ve learned since I started learning to play Guitar seriously in March 2023.*

Most people who want to learn playing Guitar, often tend to forget the simplest thing that´s needed to actually PLAY and ironically the NAME itself of it, is a PERMANENT reminder if you ask me xD .... *MUSCLE MEMORY* 🦾🧠🖐😤

Thank you as always for making these Videos @BERNTH I really appreciate it a lot :D

I ended up switching to that exact pick holding method when I learned to play bleed (meshuggah). That song literally forced me to alter my entire picking technique. Anyway. Haven't played in literal years and just got back to playing. So these videos have been nice motivation

The timing on this video is absolutely perfect. I was scrolling YouTube looking for the Right video to really boost my guitar practice with the right routines right when this video dropped. Thanks for this awesome video Bernth.

i don’t play closed hand bc i’m hybrid picking literally all of the time, but the angle tip did help so thanks

Woah. I've been practicing sweeps for a year now and it's been frustrating, but that one small tip of not going parallel cleaned up my sweep picking instantly. BTW the modes course on patreon helped my finger dexterity so much.

Lol. I'm not playing in a style that's remotely close to this, yet your pick grip tips immediately helped me in my attempts to learn bluegrass. :D

Hey Bernth, thanks I needed this video! Also, try drilling some holes in your picks, Paul Gilbert does it and it's life changing.

I’ll definitely give this my full attention later on. My picking technique changed suddenly after I took a break from playing for a few years. I now weight my pinky finger down which has made me far more accurate than before, and just as fast. But I’m envious of people like yourself with the closed hand grip so I’d like to give that a go and see if I can get it to feel natural. Rabea’s someone else with a solid closed grip for his picking hand.

If you like those max grips, try out the Matt Heafy signature max grip Jazz IIIs…they blow the other max grip picks out of the water (in my opinion anyway).

A while ago I learned your closed hand technique and got much better with it. Now i realize I got wrong the positioning of the pick. I put it on my end part of my finger instead towards the mid part. After improving the position it felt very awekward for a few hours as my knuckles shred in pain against the strings. As I let the picking hand follow the strings and not change angle much, and pulled the pick abit out of my deathgrip, it all came together. Much improved speed and control. Looking forward to putting more time into it. Thank you for your great videos!
