Moon Princess Kaguya - Bamboo & Heart Break - Japanese Mythology - Extra Mythology

A lonely bamboo cutter and his wife had created a fine if humble life for themselves but had never had any children to care for in their old age. Luckily, this is mythology, so when out in the bamboo forest, the cutter found a tiny girl, only three inches tall! That would be unusual enough but... what if she was also from the moon?

I love the interpretation that was given in Kaguya-sama: Love is war. Basically, by leaving elixir for the emperor, she meant that she will return eventually.

Moon Princess Kaguya's story is one of my favorites from her culture. I encounter it in so many anime and manga over the years, and in more then a few games.

He asked a beautiful woman to be his, and when he was rejected, instead of getting butthurt or forcing himself upon her, he's more 'That's cool. Friends?' and rolled with it. This. This is how you treat people. Don't force their hand, don't make them feel bad for their decisions, and don't act untoward.
