honestly this is a great video that makes it really simple to understand the arm trajectory is basically the same as a flat T serve

One of the best compact explanations I've seen. Maybe the best ;)

Very useful tip. It would be better if it were filmed in a way where his body doesn't block the view of the ball trajectory.

I think you guys in the comments misheard the coach. he said the pronation should happen with the hand(you can't pronate without turning your wrist) only at the last second, just before the point of contact in the serve. That way you will have the ability to disguise all 3 of your serves with the same arm action (watch from 50 sec on).

I believe that whether it is T or slice serve has to do with the racquet face (string bed) contact the ball.
FLAT T serve contact with the ball is center of the circle with the racquet head pronating because of the hand pronation.
SLICE serve contact is half way of the imaginary radius that is 45 degrees with racquet head pronation because of the hand pronation. Going around the ball has to do with the swing path and the way arm travel in order to attack the ball in that contact point

watch closely in slow motion if you have to...he is doing what he says not to do. His arm does not completely go straight towards the T...it does for a bitm but it still had to turn to generate pace on the slice. Maybe he does not know this himself.

What if, instead of changing hand movement, one changes the grip only?
