Now theres players in league 1 on 2000 quid a week. I miss the old days sometimes, players had character balls, no apps, managers didnt have to accommodate twats, and everything wasnt completely foreign and you might even find a player or two in a pub and have pint or 4 with them. Those days are gone, I also miss the umbro kits and the mitre footballs that werent a complete balloon

£2k p/w? Even with 30 years of inflation that's about £6/7k p/w that 87% of people can only dream of.

Now factoring in inflation and even having a tier system at clubs from Youth to Senior to Star Player accounting for the trebling or quadrupling of that £2k would be a starting wage of say £6-£8k for a Youth/bottom tier to a top wage of £32-£40k for seniority/Star players.

A structured Club wage today wholly based on inflation is anything from £6-40k with bonuses and incentives taking it to around £8k-£50k that is, when its not hyper inflated within a Football Bubble.
