Hey Kristen! I heard it wasn't worth it to teach English online anymore, but your video offers so many options and solutions for those of us that still want to work at home! Thank you so much for making this!

Thank you for the video. I'm from Manchester. In the United Kingdom, yes, you have a British follower. Passed my TEFL two months ago. Wanna teach online. This was a big help. Thank you 🙏

I used to work for Qkids and loved it! Life happened and I didn’t finish my degree, but if I ever do finish my Bachelors, I’d go back to teaching with Qkids in a heartbeat! Wonderful company, fun to teach their curriculum, great students. Best job I’ve had.

I really love your office chair! It looks very comfortable.

Have you ever thought about creating a video that talks about the best chairs for online teaching and sitting while teaching long hours?

Now that would be so cool! 😎

Hi Kristen, just watching you video. I have been teaching English on Preply for just over a year. I am very happy, my experience has been very positive. I have had a consist flow of students. I am available 7 days a week, from 8 am - 10 pm. I generally work between 40 and 50 hours a week. I really enjoy the variety of students I work with, from all around the world. The "commission" side of the platform can be somewhat irksome. For me, I would recommend Preply. Sure, the market is saturated with English teachers. A challenge to "up your game".

I wanna know why these platforms that require college degrees only pay $15 hr. 🙄

Fun fact: currently italki is not accepting applications for English teachers or tutors

Worth noting that Open English only accepts tutors from North America.

Thanks for the thorough content. Much appreciated!! Have you researched My Cool Class platform?

Italki is very hard to apply to for many popular languages. I have their recruiting language list as my browser homepage, and I have seen them accept English teachers only once over the last 6 months and it quickly closed hours later. You should prepare everything to submit ahead of time. Most tutors cost $15-$35 dollars an hour so hopefully that translates into more income for the teachers.

Dear Kristen, I taught elementary school for 15 years. I got ill and did not complete my masters and my license expired..THAT is one concern. Another, and perhaps the biggest concern for ME is that I am over 50 and I feel that these companies want younger people ...I am insecure about this.
