Started a week ago with my first leather project, a sheathe for an 8" double-width chef knife. I like the simplicity of his demonstration; no need for fancy graphics and animations, just a marker and a piece of paper.

Thanks for this. I've made knives for awhile but thanks to your info I now make nice sheaths for them too. Makes them a lot easier to sell.

Great tutorial! Just want to let other followers know that those clamps will leave marks on the leather so don't put them in to far. I found out the hard way.

Wow. I was super bummed that I misplaced my Coldsteel Tanto Kobun sheath the other day and can't find a replacement online. I got into anodizing balisongs a couple of years ago and acid etching blades. I absolutely love knives and the crafstmanship that goes into them. Now, I can create a beautiful, custom leather sheath because your video and instructions are superb! I am really excited to make my own sheath now and see more of your content. Thank you!

That is a very thick leather. Glad I’m not the only one who tortures their swivel knives. Thinner leather feels like I’m working with veneer and it’s way too fragile. I can’t have that. I’m all thumbs and need a sheath that’ll take an ass whuppin’.

Love your vids, keep it up!

Great video, can you use lacing to stitch this up as in whip stitch or the more fancy double stitch?

I recommend dyeing the leather before you wet form. At least for me, it was impossible to get an even looking dye job. Maybe it works fine for black, but not for brown. It might be that I am a newbie, but I wish we were told to dye ahead of wet forming so I didn't have to start completely over.

Already excited about this one. Seems when I do the fold method (only done two), I get too much watching now!

I really like the formed sheaths. They are more "Personal" than the one size fits all styles.
