Great tip to leave the cropping to GigaPixel, Thanks for another great tutorial!

All an excellent workflow, but for me, finding WHERE the Gigapixel A.I. plugin was located (File> Automate) was the best part. Had been wondering for a while. Thanks!

Thanks Dave. Enjoyed your videos, appreciate your info shares and have subscribed to your channel for several months now.
Around minute 10:00 of this video, there are very visible color artifacts in the red petals behind the bee in the before/after comparison. This may be OK for social media postings but will be very visible if printing a large print. In comparison, Photoshop's inclusive "Preserve Details 2.0" seems to do a better job. Any thoughts?

I notice a colorimetric drift after using Topaz Gigapixel and this also on raw/ tiff files.

Hi Dave, I am using Mac M1 chip and don't see "Gigapixel" in file-->Automate. I don't know who to use Topaz Gigapixel in PS. I use PS for all my editing so not sure who my work on Gagapixel?

We always denoise a Raw file before editing it
Step prealable to the retouch because otherwise on a noisy file, the noise is confused with the details so we cannot add details etc..

But if I do this, I lose the color profile on lR, and my raw file becomes a Tiff file :(

Bit odd. I downloaded the trial version of gigapixel v6 and installed it on my Windows PC. I am using the very latest version of Photoshop, just downloaded it. When I open Gigapixel as a standalone or in Lightroom I see the crop tool. However, when I open it in photoshop the crop tool is not there (not even greyed out). Topaz support say it is not supported in the photoshop version yet in this video I see it is supported. I dont want to launch from LR as it creates an extra file. Any ideas what is causing this.

thanks Dave - as always a great summary. Like you I have found that camera profiles are wonderful (I use Fuji X series) - and have not found a way to invoke the Topaz denoise in RAW mode while still keeping the profile ability. Some folks have suggested launching Topaz from LR by first invoking PS as a Smart object - and then starting Topaz from within PS (i.e. without first going via the TIFF) - but in my case I still find that RAW mode is greyed out. Perhaps it's a Fuji camera thing and it might work for other cameras. In any case, it's not a big issue - just a nice to have fix when it becomes available

Hi Dave, your videos are my go to for all info thank you for that. I have been following your Topaz gigapixel youtube videos and opened one of my bird photos to enhance following your step by step guide, eventually went into gigapixel and to my surprise the photoshop plug in did not have the crop feature. I have the newest version of gigapixel, and work on a mac which is all up to date. I sent a message to gigapixel help line explained my problem (the stand alone version allowed me to crop in the app) this was their reply
"This is actually normal behavior for the Topaz Gigapixel AI plugin.
Having the crop feature in the plugin version interferes with Photoshop because they have a crop feature."

this was followed by the comment "Let me know if this information helps." Topaz have gone down a notch in my estimation. Has anyone else had this problem. Is it only in the latest version of gigapixel?

Thanks, a good tutorial. In terms of the camera profiles, I have found that if I use De-Noise RAW model then open the file in Luminar AI the camera profile is maintained. So it is very odd that the camera profiles are disabled when editing in the Adobe products (Lightroom, Elements, Adobe RAW editor). Any thoughts on that? I've reached out to Topaz but they've not responded.

The workflow you are describing is perfect when editing a single image. But I will often come back from a shoot (birds, insects, and other wildlife that require relatively high ISOs) and want to work on dozens of images that have similar noise problems since they were shot in similar light with similar settings. It is far more efficient to run everything through DeNoise as a batch as opposed to one at a time; that way I can set Topaz to run, leave for an hour or so (depending on the number of images) and come back to do the RAW conversions and other editing. Of course not every image is going to benefit from Sharpen AI or need Gigapixel so it is fine to use them as a plug-in but virtually every image of mine can benefit from noise reduction. So it becomes a question of being efficient but lose the camera profile or inefficient while keeping the camera profile; a no-win scenario but I've gravitated towards efficiency.

Do you have experience bringing De-Noised files into Luminar AI (or the new Luminar NEO)? I'm curious as to whether or not you find this a win/win where you maintain efficiency while keeping the camera's profile?

By the way, I have found in my limited experience that Topaz Denoise is generally more effective if I let it work with the RAW model as opposed to the earlier models. This is especially true if I'm shooting at higher ISOs, such as 2500 or greater, which I will often need with my subjects. That's another reason to start with Topaz Denoise as opposed to using it as a plug-in.

Thanks Dave. I wonder why Gigapixel Ai is not with the rest of the plugins 🧐. By the way, I use Capture One and see such a difference in quality in favor of C1 that every time I try LR again, I run away and back to C1, expensive (that's an undeniable fact) but far way better looking of my images in comparison.

Dave appreciate what you do. But for those of us that don’t want to bury ourselves in Adobe subscriptions with Lightroom or Photoshop, what about doing more through Topaz Studio 2 I realize Gigapixel AI is a standalone and I also realized you asked Topaz to update Studio 2, but have you heard anything from Topaz about updating that app. . .
