Fun fact, the model in anniversary of the cockpit is still 100% part of the pelican model, not an actual human driver, and it technically isn't the model of "foehammer" because regardless of what pelican there is you'll find the same model.
For example doing the AotCR skip where you fall down to the bottom and hitch a ride with the pelican of that random squad, if you wait for it to land similarly like in this level you'll see the cockpit person is same, hence showing that the cockpit is just a part of the default pelican model.

I find it lazy and clever at the same time how 343 decided to use one of Halo 3’s female Marine soldiers and touched her up with some of the piloting gear you only see on the only pilot you see in the beginning as you’re on the Lifeboat escaping the Pillar Of Autumn.

Would have been nice to fight along side her at some point in the game. It would have been an honor.

I wonder if it's possible to bump possess the unarmed marine easter egg that's outside the map 343 Guilty Spark. According to the Halo Wikia "It appears that Bungie wanted his model to load before the cutscene (Halo Cutscene 343 Guilty Spark - Jenkins' Helmet Cam) that he later appears in; they thus coded him to load early in the level, and simply used the area outside of the level as a storage area". It would be hilarious if you bump possessed the marine, went through the level, and got to that cutscene to find the marine catching his own corpse or just flop to the ground since no animation would exist for the marine to catch the body.
