Magnus: Plays a normal move
Stockfish: You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders

4:55: By checking the differences between playing and not playing b3 here with Stockfish, I can confirm the reason behind the move was to prevent c4. Black eventually moved the light-squared bishop over to e6 to prepare c4, so that must be a problem if this move isn't played now.

I wanted to check with the Stockfish 15 that is on my computer to see if it would play something else. After quite a bit of a think, it eventually did play b3. I gave the exact same position to a beta/development version of the upcoming Stockfish 16. Whereas Stockfish 15 thought for a while and played b3, Stockfish 16, after only a little think, played Ne4. Either Stockfish 16 didn't realize it needs to think longer here, or it finds a problem with b3 Stockfish 15 didn't see. Very interesting...

I love how Levy gave the GM title to Stockfish, that's so insulting. That would be like giving the FM title to Magnus.

"Magnus responded exactly how he is programmed"

Magnus is a bot confirmed 🤣

Magnus: struggling to get to 2900
Stockfish: chilling at 3700

Edit: I’m joking, not tryna insult the best HUMAN chess player of all time

Try to pair Stockfish 15 against lower rated bots but Stockfish has to play with really bad gambits (as example. stafford / jerome gambit)

Woah, the last game was REALLY close. I expected dominance the whole time.

You should pair Levi-Bot against weakest GM bot

And you let him play until Levi-Bot becomes GM ;)

8:30 As a German speaker, I briefly thought I had overheard myself when he said Zugzwang.
I can't deny that this makes me smile a little bit right now 😊

fascinating to see bot strategies, they're unfazed by attacks that they've analyzed as futile, something humans don't have time to calculate, and bots look to incapacitate opponents pieces and shut down space it seems as a priority. Interesting to watch but impossible to replicate, like all impeccable art.

Levy! You're the best at breaking down games. Loving these engine games! I think it's because you (IM) understand more advanced complex positions/tactics and are able to articulate them back to a casual audience (~1000) in layman's to follow along.

stockfish has this eerie skill of packaging your pieces but gives you a piece of candy or 2 or even the whole bag! so you aren't sad

the thing about stockfish is that it plays strange, scuffed moves, all to only get a GAME CHANGING move a few turns later. incredible

Bro this series is awesome, make stockfish play with openings like the escandinavian or gambits that we use

Game 2 is actually super instructive. I’m going to try playing against the London like this, with the queenside attack and bishop f8 bishop e8

Watching this video made me feel better about myself losing to the engine lol

It is really amazing how advanced chess engines have gotten. But we humans can still beat up on MartinBot.
