Small details I noticed:
Cupcake cat is animated with very few in-between frames (fitting), and is very snappy, whereas toppina is much smoother, and eases into her movements more. The only exception is the Tweened parts for cupcake cat, and the part where toppina sings “time’s slipping through your paws, like trying to hold sawdust”. Toppinas lyrics in general seems to imply she also had this mindset in the past, but has learned and moved on, especially with the part with the black-and-white eyes.
I also think this shows in her personality, bc she seems a lot more happy than cupcake.
I think the lyric “where do you think your going?” Lyric means “where do you think you’ll go in life with this mindset?”
I also noticed that in the beginning, black backgrounds are associated with success and happiness, and white with failure, as shown with the hearts in the “it’s always one ore the other, switching forever, it seems” part.
I think this also goes into the “character development toppina” theory, as I’m calling it, because she’s usually on grey backgrounds.
Honestly I could dissect this animation all day, and I really like that! Great job KD!! 💛

I love this! Cupcake cat movements are a lot more erratic representing how she lives without a intermediate while Toppina movements are smooth, also I like how is used the colors in that animation, white is failure, black is success and gray is both, that is noticeable on the background, the background is gray in Toppina parts while in Cupcake cat parts it constantly change with her movements, switching black and white perfectly
I don’t think that I need to explain why the lyrics are so perfect, it feels so literal and subjective at the same time

KittyDog as been one of my biggest inspirations ever, I started drawing due to her animations, is lovable seeing how much she grow in every sense
