I stumble across your channel after I was not capable to reinstall the spring back after I noticed the brass extruder wasn't screwed at all resulting to pull thin air than the petg filament.
I had one MK8 Extruder laying around, now that I've managed to screw the bolts from the tray to make it stable enough, strangely, it doesn't string anymore although I awaited such problems.
Turns out having issues to be benefit, at least for me. Glad I discovered your playlist about cr10 smart mods.

For those with a CR-10 Smart, there's a new firmware update dated 8th March 22 on the Creality site. Might be worth doing the update and see what they've fixed.

Hey! amazing video and very easy to follow. I had a question, so I replaced my extruder for an all metal one as well as I bought a new hot end (as my old one was damaged). I wired it all up and now I can barely get a first layer down. Esteps are perfect and I can extrude fine manually, but as soon as I start a print my extruder starts skipping like crazy, even if I lift my nozzle off the bed so its pushing filament in the air. Ive went as far as upping my temps to 235 but that seemed to do nothing. My bowden tube is brand new, and there are no clogs anywhere so I'm at a loss of what could be wrong.

My CR-10 smart has been causing me some trouble lately and won't print anything even when it goes to leave the first line before it goes to print the first layer of the raft. Is been driving me crazy on trying to fix it.
