I review, breakdown and explain Only Murders In The Building Season 4 Episode 9. I discuss the Hulu and Disney+ show starring Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin as Mabel, Charles and Oliver as they look to solve the killing of Sazz. I react to Marshall being revealed as the killer and answer theories around if he has a twin. I also give my theories and predictions on episode 10 and how it will connect to season 4.

Who do you think the second person involved could be? Is there a secret twin? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Martin short was great throughout the season. He deserves a emmy.

This is a comment on Reddit by buttwarmers that really intrigued me:
'I'm surprised nobody has commented on the dry cleaning/mob ties news segment - I think THAT is going to the link that ties everything together. Lester (the doorman) has always brought dry cleaning in and out of the Arconia, and at the end of this episode, a dry cleaning truck sits in the bottom right of the credits.

There were theories in season 1 that the dog died after licking clothing that had been dry cleaned in poison, and I theorize that the rent control scheme is somehow money laundering by the mob. The mob is running illegal operations through the Arconia and doesn't want the podcast to bring attention to it.

EDIT: Also, when Poppy is confessing to the murder in season 2 episode 10 at around the 24 minute mark, she says "and I pick up your dry cleaning, and I drop off your dry cleaning..." - maybe she unwittingly involved the mob in all this too?

EDIT 2: Charles's sister is very similar to the character Theresa Caputo from Long Island Medium, and the news report said that the missing Nicky 'The Neck' Caccimielo had ties to the Caputo crime family (credit to this article for pointing out the similarity)'.

Having Ron Howard was the best camino ever. Having Eva, Zach were annoying. I liked Eugene but Ron was the best. How Ron remembered Oliver and how we thought Oliver was making up the story about meeting Ron. LOL the

I suspected Marshall/Rex for sometime and thought he stole Sazz’s script. I don’t think Glenn was working with him. I can’t figure out who the accomplice is tho!

Mabel is so stupid for immediately straight up accusing a LITERAL KILLER when they’re alone in her apartment

I just finished watching it early morning, I've known it was Marshall that was the stunt, and the moment i saw his shadow walking into the hospital room to kill Glenn.

I definitely liked this episode more than the last couple of episodes. This is how you do a celebrity cameo! There has to be someone else who is The Mastermind.

In S4:E4 at Sazz's funeral Glen tells a story about Rex Bailey getting his heel blown off while filming a different movie, so Rex Bailey worked with Sazz on multiple films.

This happens a lot in movies and tv shows. Why would you confront a killer by yourself? Mabel could have waited for the other 2 or she could have gone to the police. After all, Marshall was not going away because he doesn't believe anyone suspects him.

I know it may sound extreme, but does anyone feel like we are going back to Episode One? Does anyone remember in the title deciding scene, when Oliver mentions a murder in the park nearby? Any chance that the killer from the park was afraid of being caught, because that wasn’t his first murder? Because the Westies never admitted to poisoning the dog or leaving the note to Jan. Could that be connected to the overall plot, or is it just my conspiracy theory believing self? Also I would be disappointed if the trios hunter was introduced this season, given the several season 1 comebacks. And given how the show has not disappointed so far, I feel like it is going to be more personal (Maybe Howard?) and let’s not forget our not tinsel, has got to be that vest

Like the movie Adaptation, a twin maybe a possibility.
But surely Rex Bailey is only a pseudonym.
And a student of Dudenoff.

Nothing in this episode gave any kind of evidence of Marshall being the one who shot Sazz, or even being involved in her death, only thing that was revealed was possible motive, and that Marshal did steal the script from Sazz. But we didn't get any kind of clues indicating that he had anything to do with Sazz's murder. In fact, with how hard they are trying to point finger at Marshal in this episode, makes it almost certain he isn't the killer, as they never reveal the actual killer until the last episode of the season.

lol I’m still confused

He’s basically been beefing with sazz forever. And killed her for her movie.

But who’s been after the trio?
Was he working with anybody ?

Why would he try and kill the trio or was he trying to kill anybody who knew him?

This was a plot twist to a degree. I dont think he killed alone or did it at all. But it is on brand when we find out before the last episode and the last episode brings it all Together of why

The intro of ep 5 gave a small preview of his character and he revealed he had 20/20 vision. Immediately I was like “he gonna be important” and “if he has good eyesight. He could’ve been the shooter” but now we need to find out who carried Sazz’s body 😭

We have already seen both Marshall and Rex in the same shot. In episode 6 Bev calls a production meeting in the Arconia and as the team walk in Rex brushes past the front of the camera as Marshall is seen standing against the wall at the back of the room. Also, we have never seen Marshall wearing boots, particularly when the killer's foot prints have been left on the tacky mats.

My guess is Glenn was the one who moved the body
