D'Atra Hicks - 'Sweet Talk [12'' Extended Mix]' (1989)

A New York soul and gospel singer, D'Atra Hicks released her debut album in 1989 and it was produced by the all star cast of Narada Michael Walden, Nick Martinelli, John 'Jellybean' Benitez and Elliot Wolff. Her biggest hit in the U.S. was 'Sweet Talk', which made #8 in the R'n'B chart. This is the slammin' 12" mix, which sounds not unlike Whitney / Taylor Dayne's big 80s sound. In the UK, this only managed to hit #91!
