Everything from the dig team this week has some weird naming conventions going on, as we start things off with a Dr. Mario clone, move on to a fairly basic board game, and finish things off with a shareware vendor disk INSIDE of this shareware vendor collection! (The meta is real...)

How to pronounce "Tupaczewski":
The "cz" would be pronounced like a "ch" in English (a la "Czech Republic"), and the "w" would be pronounced like a "v".

"Apparently you fire in all four directions at once" reminds me of my early Game Maker games where I was having trouble figuring out how to make the game check conditionals like facing, so I'd either map shooting to its own separate directional controls (similar to Binding of Isaac) or make the hero's projectiles go in multiple directions.

DoubleLink is interesting, i love how you picked up on the details of its mechanics.

Yes! You came across DoubleLink! A great little (not quite) clone with a few rules of its own as you spotted! I enjoyed hearing your breakdown of the differing gameplay mechanics. I was just sat playing and enjoying myself instead. The differing reaction keeps you on your toes if you're used to Dr. Mario, it's a fun alternative!

That Taktix game is giving me war flashbacks to the microscope puzzle in The 7th Guest.

The two Batalia .BAS files aren't basic programs, but are instead the two BSAVE'd title screens.

Paul Tupaczewski also has a few other games, (Sitrtis, Lawn Mower, and Bomb Squad) if you are interested!

For unpronounceable names, it's fun to make Google or Cortana say them. 😅

I believe "Double Mario" is the first Mario Bros. game from 1983

I'm sure Batalia was tackled in a previous SD episode but I can't remember which.

DoubleLink would always give me a "Unsupported Video Mode" error everytime I'd quit the game, I'd have to restart the computer or press F2. Wonder what was causing that?

So Dr. Mario has the music tracks "Fever" and "Chill", but I'm not hearing any music here. Did you select the track "Laryngitis" off-camera?
