Tesla Model S Plaid Surprises

Model S Plaid Delivery Day event is coming up very soon. This is the only event Tesla has held since Battery Day. With the cancellation of the Model S Plaid +, there is more that we can potentially start inferring from the event and can speculate on what is actually going on with the company. If this event announces what I think they potentially might, then it's a really big deal for Tesla, and TSLA stock.

We will look into the comparison between the performance and the price of long-range Model S and the Plaid as well as between Plaid+ and Plaid. What makes Plaid+ so expensive? Why would the Plaid version cost $10,000 more than the long-range? Are Tesla Electronic Vehicles using 4680 batteries already? If Tesla is using a 4680 battery already then it will be a huge advantage.

In a tweet by Elon Musk he said that Plaid+ is cancelled, it's no need, as Plaid is just so good. Tesla never fails to fascinate us. This cancellation of Model S Plaid+ is maybe a good move. Besides, Plaid is just the same as Plaid+, it's just that Plaid+ has an extended range.
The performance of Plaid is just as good as Plaid+ .

Re: the Gigapress. You can swap out the molds, so you do not need a dedicated press per model of car. Given the fact that the Gigapress saves a lot of factory floor space, and other capital costs, the fewer the cars being produced the MORE sense it actually makes financial to use it as long as it is being shared between models.

Even that can be scary enough for some to put it on chill-mode.
Who needs faster than 3.1 seconds?
The PLAID is 1.99 seconds and that does scare the crap out of me. Plus it costs an extra $40K.

Definitely die cast molds. Don't forget aside for the weight it saves robots and processes, the mold capex does not depend on the yearly number of cars but the lifetime of the design. I estimate model S/X/Roadster 2 will have common die cast structure parts and if being bold, their will be news on the Roadster 2

If the 4680 batteries are in all plaid models, the charging time may be significantly faster than prior vehicles. Like well under 10 minutes for 20% to 80%. That would end range anxiety.

Perhaps the production delay was all about shifting to the 4680s.

I was surprised that they even introduced plaid+ which has a performance spec close to their new roadster. As an investor, cancelling the plaid+ model makes more sense to streamline their product line. But as a reservation holder for plaid+, its a disappointment since the appeal is the longer range.

There will be a Higher performance Plaid coming next year.
Musk canceled the Plaid+, to minimize the Osborne effect, when buying the performance version of the Model S.

My guess is that more information of the 4680 batteries and the Roadster will be revealed on the 10th 🤷🏼
