I said this before. Most people by the brand. They’ll pay the $1000. Every time a new Apple product comes out, people line up before daylight to get it. The price from a 5C to the 16 is way too much. But if no one would pay a grand for a phone, they would come back down to below 500 bucks.

There are a couple of American brands that are mostly tactical. If more people knew about them, I think more people would buy them.

But when you have Americans spend $25-$30, 000 for a side-by-side you can’t even drive on the road or a $50, 000 bass boat or $100, 000 pick up truck. $1000 cell phone is chump change.

The rest of us wait patiently for the best deal, trade in etc… I’ve never paid anywhere close to full price for a smart phone. I’d go back to a flip.

Apple make 46% margin on the iPhones. So you could do it, but they would make less profit and couldn’t do stock buybacks for the shareholders

What is the economic impact of that decision? How does that reflect back into GDP and jobs and internal economic growth within our own country?

Had on the news the weight-loss and blood sugar medication here is $900 and $70 in Italy or somewhere but the USofA was multiple times higher than everywhere.

On the other hand we see videos saying that an iPhone cost $30 to make so the problem is the $1000 that apple put in its pocket, pay zero tax on and doesn’t employ a single person in the US involved in the phone fabrication

Nowadays you can get a much better phone from Samsung or Google for significantly less money, but for whatever reason dummies care more about that blue bubble than bang for their buck.
This is even more true for AirPods.

You can market those ones that are more expensive as an "elite premium deluxe edition" for those who want to spend that extra money to have the US made version of it. I guarantee there's a market for that !

Materials to produce an Iphone cost no more than $96.00, what we pay for is technology and of course corporate greed, not the materials and labor itself.

$1000 is the sale price not the cost to make . each iPhone costs around $10 to manufacture so if they wanted to make it in the U.S it would cost $24 .
So if they made it in the US the sale price would be $1, 024

Can’t be made in the USA. The technology and tooling to make the chips and boards does not even exist in the US.

I totally get it but if they did start making it in the states it would gradually come down due to demand after 3-4 years but its a fashion statement only if the top 20% bought iphones in the states thats how long it would take to get to a competitive price trade unions are the problem look at japan they outlawed trade unions but went to in house unions to save the worker money as the money you pay to trade unions are a total extra tax on the working class

Hmm, Apple had earned profit margins of around 50% to 60% on many iPhone models. It cost $400 - $500. They can have grocery stores, low profit margins, typically ranging from 1% to 3% & make money on subscriptions like costco. Labor costs in China are increasing, which is why they're moving out

The phone CAN BE SOLD CHEAPER even MADE in the USA… JUST Apples profits margins would just shrink…

It only costs about $500 to make a new iPhone. Imagine if it was made in America 🇺🇸 and cost $1000. The tech company that made the phone just wouldnt be one of the most valuable companies in the world. America would be better off and so would Americans 🇺🇸
