11-year-old Margaret (Abby Ryder Fortson) is uprooted from her life in New York City for the suburbs of New Jersey, going through the messy and tumultuous throes of puberty with new friends in a new school. She relies on her mother, Barbara (Rachel McAdams), who is also struggling to adjust to life outside the big city, and her adoring grandmother, Sylvia (Kathy Bates), who isn’t happy they moved away and likes to remind them every chance she gets. In theaters April 28, 2023.

Yes!!! Can't believe they made a book. Remember reading this as a girl. Never forgot it. Really looking forward to seeing the motion picture.

So glad they’ve made this classic into a movie! Looks like they’ve done a good job! This should be a MUST for all prepubescent girls!

When I read it at 12 her brother was named Evan then in my early twenties I got a new copy to reread for nostalgia and the brother was named something else! I was stunned.. lol.. that's when I found out that they make changes to existing books!

I remembered when Margaret’s tells her Grandma she’s wants to go church with her, she’s convinced she’s Jewish especially on Rosh Hashanah when she’s went to Temple Of Israel 🇮🇱 Of New York City 🌃 on Rosh Hashanal Jewish Holiday when she’s met Rabbi Kellerman, Good Yom Tov especially when he’s said We’re Celebrating 🥳 Happy New Year 🎈🎆. I remembered when she’s met her parents who are Christian. I remembered she wasn’t too crazy about them. Jennydebrier

I feel like this should have been left alone. Reading this book was a formative experience for so many girls and some things just can't be adapted to a movie format.
