1983 was the last year for the windshield wiper switch on the dash & the high beam low beam switch down on the floorboard which was a small button lookin thing you pressed down with your foot. In the middle of the 1984 model year was the last year for chrome windshield wiper arms & blades.

I’m glad to see more people working on older vehicles getting them running. You won’t see stuff like this 20 or 30 years from now because these cars nowadays are disposable.

Very cool project you are working on. Hopefully you can get your Dad’s reaction on camera 🎥 somehow. I felt like I was watching a YouTube video of Watch Wes Work. Oh wait I was 😁. Looking forward to the next episode

Once Mickey and Minnie are "launched" out the exhaust path...the "lungs" will be in much better shape...as you know! Congrats! Get you some Lucas gas treatment...change the oil/filter...get some tires...check your brakes...new set of freeze plugs...then good 2 go!

Good job getting your Dad's truck running, I honestly didn't think it would run. 😁 God Bless

Cool project! I'm just finishing my 81 Scottsdale K20 I pulled from a field 6-7 years ago. Now it's a turbocharged beast.

Yes it's an hei and the coil is in the cap. They are reliable and can sit 4 yrs and still spark. I'd check the oil and see if there's water in it and pull the valve covers and check the valve train, take a look at the plugs as well. Gm has the solenoid on the starter, Ford has it on the fenderwell, although a ford style solenoid can be used. Good luck with it, hope it makes ur pops happy!!! Runs pretty good for sittin so long. 👌

Great video. Good to see that you're doing alright. Truck sounds good. I would definitely change the fuel pump and the sending units on the tanks. Definitely check the fuel lines for leaks. Same for the brakes. Have a great week.

Love the video Westin! Nothing better than an old square body. What kind of tool box is it that you have in the back over your truck?

Look behind the seats in trucks to see what may have caused it to be sitting...
