Sources told you wrong! Tire was being disassembled in our wheel and brake shop/breakdown area. Was NOT on or near any plane.
In a rush to be 1st, news outlets will run with anything...Delta mechanic, here.

I’ve always believed that anyone anytime anywhere dealing with tires should have one of those metal tire cages around the tire when inflating or deflating or at all working with these tires… People basically just go by the assumption that it rarely ever happens so they don’t worry about it…

What we need is strict tire pressure regulations, it’s too dangerous to have these tires be high pressured. This can cause many dangerous occurrences. We need these common sense tire pressure laws now.
