This summer many experienced Adobe Photoshop users began seriously looking for an Adobe alternative, BUT wait...is Adobe Camera RAW still the better RAW conversion software?

With over 20+ years of Photoshop experience, I am exploring alternatives to Adobe Camera RAW with Affinity Photo. Inspired by @dekeNow who I learned much about Adobe Photoshop from in 2003. See how I demonstrate the differences of Serif's Affinity Photo over Adobe Camera RAW.

1:34 You said Affinity, you are displaying Adobe. I don't think this is the only time.

I haven't fully left Adobe for this exact reason. I got Affinity photo, publisher, and design... but as a photographer. I need a replacement for Adobe Lightroom/Adobe Camera Raw. And they just do not have a capable replacement.

That is the one thing keeping me with adobe unfortunately. CaptureOne is a good alternative, but it has higher prices than Adobe's LR+PS combo.

The Affinity version looks really pixelated! Are you sure there is not something else going wrong?

You can't just whack the sliders all the way to 100 on both programs and expect them to do the same thing, much less to look good. Maybe try adjusting the sliders as needed until it looks optimal? Like what an actual skilled photographer would do? Ridiculous.
