Local couple lost thousands of dollars after sweepstakes scam

The victim sent a check to an address in Minnesota and lost thousands of dollars.

I used to get these calls. When I told them I never enter sweepstakes they said I won with my phone number. I've never heard of that, so I said no thanks. He said "Don't you want your money?" I said I have enough money, give it to someone who really needs it. He hung up on me.

I have been scammed as well.. not by 1 but by at least 12 to 15 times..sad but i had to get nasty to get them to stop.. what wirries me now are the threats to my health..
