Given the choice of having my life saved by a Christian or an atheist I’d pick either, as my life needs to be saved…

… But if an atheist saves my life I have more confidence they are doing so for humanitarian reasons, and not out of a desire to be rewarded by a deity for which there is little to no evidence.

We don’t need a god to tell us right from wrong. It’s an insult to humanity to say we do.

Sam Harris said it so well (but I’m paraphrasing him here..). Everyone you know & love will die and so will you, with no afterlife to look forward to. Why wouldn’t you be nice to them on this journey toward the inevitable?

I happen to believe in God, but the people I know who are agnostic or atheist, they are good caring, moral people because it's the right thing to do. Not because they're afraid of punishment or whatever. BTW if you're using the world "idiot" which is a slur against someone's intelligence, I'd like to point out that Religion isn't based on logic or some kind of "proof" at all. It's "faith" right? If you're looking to prove there is a God using logic and proof, you're SOL, not the most intelligent statement you're ever made, Steve.
