Curious why the air force (VVS) is not mentioned?

why do mericans translate it as "patriotic", if "Отечество/Otechestvo" in Russian is "Fatherland", and the word "patriot" also sounds like "patriOt" in Russian and means same? It was not just some kind of war of "patriots", this is a battle for survival of Russians Slavic and other Soviet people and nations, a battle for your homeland and people lives.

As always, the merican belittling of the merits of the Russians - and we see that it was not in vain, people in our time (especially overseas) do not even know who stormed Berlin and who defeated 80% of Hitler's army, which included the best and elite units. Hence the short memory and, as a consequence, the ingratitude of many peoples, expressed in Russophobia and slander in the means of propaganda, starting with the Fulton speech.
