Ah, the good ol Onion Knight. Maybe the only onion that doesn't make me cry 😢. It was really neat to experience their addition way back in 2007... Maybe not so much these days, lmao. Great build! I've never gotten to experience the Onion gear.

I think the inspiration for these guys were the imps in FF6 which had their own set of armor and a weapon. They could only attack really but had decent damage from the gear. Other than that I never really bothered using one outside of a few fights.

So I'm confused. How do you take advantage of the stat growth of you've used all your levels mastering all the jobs in the game? Do I have to delevel and relevel?

y'know what another (not) useful function of the onion knight is? the lv 8 onion knight is far and away the best class to delevel if you want to give your character the worst stats in the game, bar none

... not that anyone would want to do that, but it *is* useful in setting up my ramza for an all stats = 1 challenge run of the game, lol

Really disappointing the way they did this. Having the best stats in the world just isn't as fun if you can't do anything with them.
For all the grinding you have to do to make them good, they could have let the Onion Knight equip abilities, including two customizable active ability slots.

Dunno but personally I think its a pretty bad job overall. Final Fantasy in general has the rule of variety is king, and these guys can’t do anything besides move, wait and attack. It’s like the most boring and generic thing in FFT.
