As Jesse pursues the addicts who stole Skinny Pete’s drug supply, Walt scrambles to shore up his cover story to explain how he’s been paying for his cancer treatments.

Season Two - Episode Six: "Peekaboo"

Episode Description:
Walt returns to work. Skinny Pete gets ripped off and when Jesse steps in to ""handle it,"" he gets more than he bargained for. Skyler finally gets to thank Gretchen for paying for Walt's treatment.

Episode Overview:
Taking his cues from Hank, Jesse fuels up on meth before tracking down the addicts who stole from Skinny Pete. At the ramshackle house where the pair are said to live, the only person Jesse finds is a 5-year-old boy the couple have left to fend for himself. And once he has worked to make the little boy comfortable, Jesse must quickly shift gears when the drug-addicted thieves finally arrive. Meanwhile, after speaking on the phone with Skyler, Gretchen Schwartz realizes that Walt has told his family that she and her husband have been paying for his cancer treatments. And when he arrives at home to find Gretchen there, Walt discreetly asks her not to say anything to Skyler about his lies.

After getting the drop on Spooge and his girlfriend, Jesse demands that they return what’s left of the stolen meth and pay him for what’s missing. To keep Jesse from doing anything rash, Spooge offers him the cash contained inside a stolen ATM – one that he and his girlfriend took after killing the owner of a local bodega. But Spooge is unable to open the ATM, and Jesse’s frustration grows when he can’t crack its lock either. Meanwhile, over dinner at a Santa Fe restaurant, Walt does his best to explain to Gretchen why he lied. And in the wake of Walt’s accusing her and Elliott of making their fortune on the back of his research, Gretchen calls to tell Skyler not to expect any more money. When confronted with the news, Walt is relieved to find that Gretchen has maintained his story as he explains to Skyler that the sagging economy is behind the Schwartzes’ cutting him off.

Despite their efforts to crack the ATM, neither Jesse nor Spooge have any luck. When Jesse isn’t looking, Spooge’s girlfriend manages to sneak up and hit him over the head with a bottle. However, as Jesse groggily plans his next move, the drug-addled girlfriend gets her own revenge on Spooge by crushing his skull beneath the ATM just as it spills its contents. And when the woman can think only of going after the remaining stash of meth, Jesse pockets the thousands in cash expelled by the ATM and escapes after calling 911 in an effort to save the little boy.

Meeting Jesse was like the best thing that ever happened to that kid.

Imagine having such a crappy home life that the first person to probably do something unselfishly nice for you is your parents' drug dealer.

This episode was amazing. We see the drugs getting bought and sold, drug lords and money, but this brought light to where the drugs Walt creates can lead to.

The first time that we realized that Jesse Pinkman had a good heart

This episode was the toughest for me to watch. Anything involving a child suffering like that just breaks me

Jesse was probably the most humane character in the show.

This scene was so powerful the fact the kid is so desensitized to everything that he’s completely calm and fine being with a complete stranger and having him hold him and tuck him in

This episode made me feel the most, because Jesse deep down was an actual good person. He knows he makes terrible mistakes and that he’s a disappointment to everyone in his life, but he also knows he doesn’t want an innocence of a child to be taken away. He truly does care and wants to be a good person. He just lets himself think he’s never capable of being good or having worth. I personally think Jesse Pinkman is one of the saddest characters ever

I saw the the commentary for this episode that this kid was supposed to be seven years old and I think that blows my mind the most because from the size of him and the developmental skill he shows I was certain he was three or four. I guess that's what living in an environment with no consistent meals and not even the basic level of learning that comes just from interacting with other normal human beings gives you.

These kind of precious and human moments are what makes Breaking Bad my favorite show ever. Nothing will ever compare.

Jesse Pinkman was one of the best written characters ever. Even though he was deeply flawed, everyone who watched BB ended up loving him.

That child is so adorable. Jessie in my opinion was always the main character. The protagonist. Walt was the Antagonist.

Jessie's ' oh man' is what made me fall in love with him

The guy dying and the wife being imprisoned was probably the best for that kid. He may have found a nice adoptive family instead of living with those junkies for the rest of his life.

And just to think there are millions of other children living like this kid is... It hurts to acknowledge that.
So I'll adopt kids that need a healthy environment, and to have the best education & important parental figures.
I'd want that too.
