In my opinion, the song sounds seductive as well as very sad because its based on a sinful love. A love that wasn’t supposed to flourish. Lust that sprang into love. Two forbidden souls entangled between the vicious fates of a doom future together. How is it love when the base or the foundation of your relationship is made from mendacity and impurity? Just like “house of cards” they in the end are meant to fall apart . Yet they carry on still having a little faith in the power of their “unsheltered love”.
