The picture is the mite drop 2 days after the first OAV Test!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More on the hive with the insanely high (94 mites on 300 bees) mite count.

I apply OA one treatment a week for six consecutive weeks that suppose to give me a 97% kill rate that Randy Oliver has found in his experiments (ABJ Feb 2018), doing a total of five OA treatments every four days apart will give you a quick knockdown of your mite load with a 91% kill rate that Randy Oliver has found in his experiments (ABJ Feb 2018) I also use a pro vamp 110 vaporizer. the biggest problem with the vaporizer is, it is time consuming and labor intensive.

Thanks so much for involving us and keeping us informed. You don't have to devote the time and effort that you do but you choose to do so and I think I speak for everyone when I say thank you and your family for all you do.

Doing the same thing 2nd hit tomorrow but I do not have the setup like you I am using the Italian wand that you hook up to a battery but same thing respirator/googles it is a pain but has to be done. What do you all think of the Mite Away Quick Strips treatments?

My husband is the beekeeper in our family, I'm the unpaid helper! Just a quick question. We have just tried Randy Olivers shop towel method using oxalic acid and glycerin to soak a blue shop towel. Wondered if you have tried it? seems like its a lot less work than the vapor? we applied them 2 weeks ago, have 4 weeks to go before another mite wash.

by the way, one of our hives had a 16% mite yikes.

When treating a hive for mites with OAV, does it matter if there are many foragers out during the treatment? Thanks for all your insight.

I did the smaller doses of apiguard as you did, but over 4 weeks. Wish I could say I had a scientific reason but simply had product I needed to use up. Need to do a mite wash and see the results in AM.
Also fed pollen patties. Son, my bees are bursting st the seams.

Thank you for your videos, which is great information. This may be a dumb question. What time of day do you treat with Oxalic acid? I know bees come into the hive with varroa. I just wonder if you do intervals for instance do 1 with all bees in and in 4 days do 1 with most bees out foraging.

Don't be embarrassed about the alcohol wash. With all you've got going one got past you. No biggie.
Plus side you got a couple of videos out of it.

Kamon, if you watch this video that hive looks orange and blue! That’s probably the problem. RTR!!!

OA looks to be harmless to us humans, but it is not.
Last year I had OA on my hands unknowingly and somehow I touched my face with my hands and my face started to burn a lot.
I tried a lot of things before my burning pain went away.
I do not even know what helped.

Thank you for the video and I am waiting for the results.

I'd watch all of those videos. Does that make me odd? Are you calling me odd? :p

Sounds a bit excessive. you might want to remove the queen before each treatment, or be prepared to re-queen. Good luck
