In this lesson you will learn to write decimals in expanded notation by dividing by multiplying each digit by a unit fraction.

CCSS.5.NBT.A.3.a Read and write decimals to thousandths using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form, e.g., 347.392 = 3 × 100 + 4 × 10 + 7 × 1 + 3 × (1/10) + 9 × (1/100) + 2 × (1/1000).

TEKS.5.2.A represent the value of the digit in decimals through the thousandths using expanded notation and numerals;

TEKS.4.2.B represent the value of the digit in whole numbers through 1,000,000,000 and decimals to the hundredths using expanded notation and numerals;
