That's not a "goofy celebration mask", it's the "Big-Head-Doll" from Chinese traditional. You know the one who usually "guiding/leading" the dancing lion/dragon.

I fully support spending $130 on big head mode, worth it

Edit: Also, I'm really happy Lego is making cheap Chinese New Years sets with the $25 Money Tree. It feels like these sets made for China are super expensive like with Monkie Kid so I'm glad they're making affordable ones.

I don't celebrate Chinese New Year, but the Lego sets that come with the holiday are always incredible.

Can't wait for you to make a cursed "Baby Thanos" with that open mouthed head! lol this set is interesting for sure!

This set introduces the Classic Space helmet and air tank pieces in purple for the first time, thrown in by the designers to fit with the recent Alien guy CMF whose torso was plain purple with the Classic Space logo. Now us Classic Space fans can finally get a Spaceman in purple!
I really hope the helmet and air tank go on Bricks and Pieces.

I like the Chinese new year themes and they've made a bunch of them. They have such cool and unique builds and pieces especially food in some of them. These are nice too. I'm not Chinese at all So i wouldn't be able to display them like a holiday, but if I got them I'd display them in their own shelf unit .

I love the lunar new year sets LEGO makes every year. Always have some fantastic pieces or even prints.
Also love it when they're available on bricks and pieces so I can buy a ton of them.

A lot of good stuff for a monkie kid and/or ninjago moc.

I like the Musical Instruments... I really don't care much for the rest of the set. I might consider just building only those

These sets all release in Europe on the 25th of December.
I'll definitely get them all but ONLY because I have every single previous set (including the 1st wave of China-only sets which I had a friend bring me from Macau 😅). Have I built ANY of them? Nope. At this point, I think I'm collecting these sets as MISB items. If I never build them, at least they'll be a good investment.

It's the printed butterflies in the Lunar New Year Display that interest me. They're a relatively new piece, and they're printed! So much more usable and cute than those big heads. To each his own...

If you take out the hair on either of those heads you basically got Lego Kirby

This shows that the thanos head on a normal figure is a legal technique LEGO follows so we could see it more

It really is a beautiful set when you get down to it, so while not maybe worth that exact price it is worth a steeper price because of the detail gone into it.

I’m thinking about the Spongebob Movie.
“A hundred and 1 dollars for a Krabby patty”

Put the male one on the Lego Mario goomba leg piece, and you got a custom Kirby minifigure

The thanos head piece would be great for a comic accurate The Watcher

There’s gonna be a new Monkie Kid mech with an elephant man too, I love the Chinese themed sets so much. My wallet is crying in pain already.
