To say that FBI have been naive is a diplomatic take on what those FBI agents have done. They have downplayed what Oath Keepers was about, given misleading representations about what that para military group aimed to do and protected them. Those agents abetted the Oath Keepers, and prevented the secrete service from taking appropiate action against that group on january 6. They propperly did that because they shared that group's views. However, FBI agents are not allowed to take their own political views as a guideline or take what a subject says at face value. Their job is to investigate statements and follow FBI standards.
