considering that most ww2 smgs were open bolt it makes the most practical sense. only ones that it'd be a bad idea to hold them by the magazine would be side mounted smg like the sten or mp28. simply because the way you're holding them will most likely pull the magazine away from the bolt or bend it down so the receiver isn't feeding. interesting video

It's refreshing to hear someone say that not all weapons are the same, should be handled or fired the same, or that all shooters are the same. Too many YouTubers and commenters on here and other channels that say there is just one way to do whatever point they were trying to make; grip, aim, trigger squeeze, stance, etc. Nope. There is more than one way to shave a cat...or whatever you do to cats.
