Went down the rabbit hole of bettas some 20 years ago, & 100% agree on stimulation & interaction, for both fish and caretaker!

The "entrance" to that rabbit hole was my first, a scarlet red female named Sushi(of course). She sat in a 1G former pickle jar on my desk, & when she was wanting to play and felt ignored, she would "click" her jaw... LOUD ENOUGH THAT I WOULD HEAR IT, to get my attention and say, "Let's play!!"
That time also included: Sashimi, Poke, & Cerviche.😁

Hope a betta tank mates video comes soon! I am cycling a tank that is going to be a community tank and I want a betta in it. I am thinking of adding either amber, rummy-nose, or neon tetras but I'm not sure if those are as good of an option as some people claim them to be.

I’ve got a betta fish named Alfred, we first got him in Oct 2022. his body was white/silver with red “rosetail” fins, his body now has a little pinkish color to it since we fed him pellets and brine shrimp, which enhances colors. For a while, i was teaching him how to dance by moving my hands side to side and he would move from left to right. (the brine shrimp was a reward for doing it.) pretty soon i noticed he wasn’t dancing and i found out my mom was giving him the shrimp as just a part of his daily meal and not when he danced 😭😭 He now actually jumps for his food, which he started doing all on his own. Alfred is super friendly and he’ll usually stay at the front of his tank if he notices people are near by. he’s currently in a 2.5 gallon and he’s got little friends in his tank. those friends being a little skeleton and stegosaurus, first time he ever saw the skeleton, he started showing off by flaring his beard. he’s also got a little mexican doll named Mochacha we put outside his tank and he loves to hang around her when nobody else is around, he even sleeps next to her even tho he’s got a tunnel.

My betta is a crown tail, he's peaceful with everyone I had a veiltail male before and he wanted to tear everyone around him. My crown tail gets so happy looking at me he's staring all the time looking at what I'm doing or when I come home from works he get pretty excited and wants to swim towards me ❤

Love your videos, would also love to see a "My Betta's From Across The World" video similar to that of Jimmy Gimbal. You rarely show off your bettas! I hope you will show more of your bettas, thanks for the informational vids too!

I have 2 large Amano Shrimp, 1 Nerite and a Rabbit snail. All of these keep my Tangerine coi Betta entertained. My Betta is not aggressive and very curious. He also likes resting on the side of the Rabbit snail. He also likes when I get my face close to the front of tank for a few minutes as I make faces at him. He doesn’t flare at me. The only time he flares is when the room gets dark and light is on in the aquarium as he sees his reflection on the glass. I let him flare at himself a couple of times and then I turn the lights off. My tank is heavily planted for all in the tank and they all get along and feel safe. They do interact with each other but not aggressive. I agree it all depends on the Betta personality!

I named my white female halfmoon Freda! I got her a 3.5 gallon fish tank with filter water warmer and temp gauge and I love her.

Excellent video as always! I'm going to get back into my aquariums & spruce them up with some new plants for the holidays. Then, I'll buy a few fish including a betta. Merry Christmas!

I think my betta is the aggressive type but he’s also very sweet and very smart ..I thinks he’s love live foods like the shrimp since I see he’s getting bored of the pellets

“Any curious betta will interact with a ping pong ball once put into water! :D”

My betta, who has been trained many things but STILL can’t get the ball pushing thing down: *imagine*

Also I keep my betta well fed with a variety of foods and I hand feed him “a piece at time from my finger”. It’s a game. He loves frozen Blood worms and Daphnia and pellets. I alternate foods!

So for instance if my beta flares at me when I feed him that is actually an ok thing? I was worried he was to stressed out! I’m glad to hear it may actually be a good thing for him to flare every so often

I bought ping pong balls for my 15 betta's in the past and not a single one payed any attention to them 😞. I was all set to see them play. And the smallest pack I found online was a 60 pack. And I've only had one betta, who happened to be my first betta ever, that paid attention to the little floating mirror toy. He would attack that thing with a fury. The rest just aren't interested.

I have one betta that is always scared since I bought it. If it sees me it hides or even if I walk by. Never had a betta that does that. Not sure why? But I bought him a.lg rock to hide in.

I have trained my betta with my finger. I talk to him and follow him in the tank then I put my finger where he is then drag my finger to the surface where I drop his food. He always knows he will be fed when he follows my finger.
