Out of curiosity, I just watched a concert from 1982. There were moments when his lips and the words didn't seem to be in synch -- I couldn't be certain, though. It also seemed to me that he wasn't opening his mouth very wide given the power of his voice. However, some singers seem to be like that: the power and resonance of their voices is mostly in the throat and mouth, and they don't need to open wide to make a large sound. I then watched a couple TV performances from the 1960's. He was opening his mouth wider back then, but it was still notable how large his voice was, especially coming from a mouth that didn't seem particularly big. The sharpness of his voice is (was) unusual.

Other things I noticed were that he always has his backup singers giving very enthusiastic performances, making gestures and stuff like that. Indeed, Valli was an enthusiastic performer himself. Watching those videos also reminded me of how good the music was -- hit after hit after hit of fabulous songs.

Isn't it a shame that we all have to grow old and die? Frankie Valli, Barry Manilow, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, not to mention all the others who have passed recently. And now I'll be gone in a few years!

videos like these r so helpful cos no matter how many times u sing or even say something it's gonna be slightly different every single time but putting all these shows one after another really exposes that it's just one single track used every time for those who can't just hear or see that it's lip synced

I don't understand why they can't make a natural sounding pre-recorded track for him. Someone probably insisted that it be based on recordings of his real voice, when they should have just used a sound-alike. There is something about the pitch correction and volume leveling that makes everyone sound extremely weird and unnatural in the exact same way.

There is this Joe Pesci and Jimmy Scott duet where I first heard it. It's similar to the weird autotune used in Hollywood musicals like for Huge Jackman in the greatest showman, but it's more robotic and unsettling.

He is DEFINITELY lip syncing nowadays, and doing so poorly. I realize just standing on a stage for hours is remarkable for a 90 year old. I also realize he has a lifetime of incredible achievements. But those are not the points! He is defrauding concert goers who pay lots of money to hear Frankie Valli sing live. These fans should be told he can only lip sync and THEY can decide if they want to pay hundreds of dollars or more to see him. I know a lot of you adore Frankie Valli and don’t like hearing this, but what he and his handlers are doing is unethical. Period.

I looked it up and it seems that he charges between $70 to $175 for a ticket. This is basically a charge to see him appear on a stage with band equipment and extras, only to hear his studio songs play digitally while he pretends to sing.

Hardly worth it.

Look up the video of December 63 Kiva auditorium. He is singing without the track and sounds pretty rough at the start of his verse. It’s weird! I believe he’s singing along a bit but uses tracks because they are the same. No singer can do that. If you watch in the 90’s he’s singing and it’s very different the way he moves and changes up his vocals.
