I just realized that Genie did actually make Aladdin a prince, not of a new country... but Prince of Thieves.
Everybody rags that Genie owes Aladdin a wish for not truly fulfilling the "Make me a Prince" wish... but Aladdin was later revealed to be the Prince of Thieves.
