Role of microbes in soil fertility | Carbon cycle | Microbes in decomposition of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin
This is the second lecture of the course 'Agricultural Microbiology' being offered for 1st year 1st semester students of B.Sc (Ag.) program at SASRD, Nagaland University.
This lecture includes soil components, diverse soil microorganisms, soil microbial population, factors on which growth and survival of soil microbes depend, role of microbes in soil, cycling of carbon in nature, role of microbes in carbon cycle, and decomposition of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin by microbes (fungi and bacteria).
